Christian Care Communities is Kentucky’s largest faith-based, not-for-profit provider of affordable housing and long-term care for Older Adults. Founded in Louisville in 1884 to care for widows and orphans, Christian Care primarily serves Older Adults through an extensive network of retirement communities, including independent living apartments and patio homes, assisted living, and skilled nursing care. In addition, Christian Care’s Stepping Stones program for individuals with acquired brain injuries is based in Louisville.

Christian
Care prides itself on its role as Kentucky’s largest
faith-based, not-for-profit provider of affordable housing
and long-term care for older adults.
We’ve made it our
mission to provide older adults with affordable retirement
communities, providing the flexibility to be as independent as possible by selecting
from an array options: from well-appointed garden homes, to Housing and Urban
Development-supported independent living apartments, to assisted living apartments.
We also offer fully accredited skilled nursing homes, physical therapy and rehabilitation
services as well as an adult day center.
Our statewide network of older adult communities is designed
to provide a sense of community, offering more than a place
to live—but a place to call home.
Investigate the possibilities for you or your loved one in the following locations:
Louisville, Lexington, Bowling Green, Hopkinsville, Corbin, Owensboro, Taylorsville
and Grayson, Kentucky.
Whether it’s through disease or trauma, when adults
lose their independence due to a brain injury, they often
have few places to turn. Based in Louisville, but serving
the entire state, the Stepping Stones program offers comprehensive
services, from intense occupational and speech therapy, to
a full array of clinical and social services, individualized
to help each individual reintegrate more fully into the community.
Inspired
by the teachings of Jesus Christ, full time chaplains serve
the majority of our retirement communities. They offer
weekly prayer services, Bible study, and more intensive,
one-on-one counseling for those who need additional spiritual
guidance. We consider this a very important part of
our mission, which seeks to serve the whole person - body,
mind and spirit.
We also have an extensive outreach
program to more than 230 Disciples of Christ/Churches of
Christ, Independent Christian Churches, as well as other
denominations, who are valuable partners in helping Christian
Care Communities with funding initiatives and volunteerism
efforts.
